Meet Elizabeth Gibbens.

Storyteller, Sustainable Style Advocate, Francophile, Wardrobe Concierge.

I’m a strategic communicator, ethical fashion advocate, and wardrobe concierge who helps people look their best while staying true to their values. Often my clients are navigating life transitions — changing careers, raising families, re-entering the dating world, stepping into a new professional identity, retiring. Aligning clients’ outward image with their personal evolution opens new worlds to them.

What has prepared me to be your best fashion stylist and concierge? A lifetime of experience in fashion styling and communications — a career at the intersection of personal service and transformation. Here’s more about my background:

Timeline:

Mid-Career: Image-Consulting, Event-Planning, and Fashion-Styling certificates from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York; Communications for Gender, Climate Finance and Sustainable Fashion at IFC, the private sector division of the World Bank Group; Selected for Style for Hire, Stacy London's stylist network.

Early to Mid-Career: Retail Sales, Management, Fashion Consulting, Designer Representation, and Personal Wardrobe Styling at Henri Bendel, Barneys CoOp, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Dior.

Adolescence: Sewing my own clothing, modeling for D.H. Holmes department store (based in New Orleans), studying French and beauty regimens with my French teacher. Why is this important? I learned how to integrate image and beauty into a lifestyle that I can share with my clients.

Childhood: Learning to sew doll clothes and needlework. Why is this important? I know how garments are ideally constructed and can assure my clients of clothing quality.

In communications work with global development organizations, I translate complex topics like sustainable garment and textile production, climate finance, and gender justice into messaging that raises awareness and inspires action. By shaping compelling narratives, I help international organizations gain support for reaching their goals.

That same sense of purpose drives my work in fashion. I guide women and men toward building intentional wardrobes that evolve over time — not by impulse shopping or hauls, but through clarity and care. Services include formal evaluation of flattering colors, silhouettes, and proportions in relation to clients’ personal characteristics.

As a wardrobe concierge and custom menswear stylist with J.Hilburn, I provide tailored, luxury experiences that reflect each client’s values and lifestyle.

For women, I discover “new” outfits within their existing wardrobes and source finely designed, thoughtful additions from vintage, resale, and ethical fashion brands. I also help re-design garments in consultation with tailors. Styling is always in service of clients’ personalities and real-life goals. My slower-fashion approach reduces waste, avoids overwhelm, and helps to usher in better conditions for garment workers.

Through image consulting services, I also help clients refine their personal brands across style, grooming, writing, and speaking — drawing from strategic communications to ensure that clients show up with presence and authenticity in every setting.

National publications have featured my writing and styling work. In addition to those activities, I produce and host events, coordinate editorial shoots, and lead sustainable shopping tours in Washington, DC, New York, and Paris.

Looking great shouldn’t come at the expense of living beings and our planet. Ethical and elegant must become one and the same.
