Fashion Style Therapist for Hire!
Elizabeth Gibbens has worked in fashion styling and in communications for more than 15 years and is now earning an image-consulting certificate and taking classes in fashion styling at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. This education is to certify all her years of self-teaching, which began with sewing at six years old, continued in retail at Henri Bendel, Barney’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Dior, and in her own styling work—beginning in 1999 and culminating in Stacy London’s selecting her for Ms. London's network of fashion stylists. Elizabeth hosts fashion shows, styles photo shoots, participates in charity auctions, writes freelance fashion articles, conducts shopping tours in DC, New York and Paris, and pursues other design- and style-related activities, from event décor to staging. Her philosophy of personal style is based on her background as a writer and student of literature: Character is built from inside; but for others to grasp it, you have to communicate it outwardly—and visually through your wardrobe.
